Connect an email inbox to Messello
When you connect an email inbox, messages sent to your support address turn into conversations in Messello, so your team replies from the same shared inbox as your chats.
Create an Email inbox
- Go to Settings → Inboxes → Add inbox.
- Choose Email as the channel.
- Enter the support address you want customers to write to (for example, support@yourcompany.com).
- Name the inbox and assign the agents or teams who should reply, then finish setup.
Route your email into Messello
Messello gives the inbox a dedicated forwarding address. You have two options:
- Forward your mail: In your email provider (Gmail, Outlook, or your host), set up automatic forwarding from your support address to the Messello forwarding address. This is the quickest way to start.
- Connect your address directly: Follow the inbox prompts to link your mailbox so replies are sent from your own domain.
Send replies from your address
To make outgoing replies come from your own domain rather than a Messello address, complete the sending (SMTP/domain) setup shown in the inbox. Until then, replies still work but may show a Messello sending address.
Test it
- Send an email to your support address from an outside account.
- Confirm it appears as a conversation in your Messello inbox.
- Reply from Messello and check the customer receives it in their email.
Keep email next to your live conversations — also add website live chat or explore the live demo.
