Connect Instagram to Messello for DMs

When you connect Instagram to Messello, your Instagram DMs become conversations in your shared inbox, so your whole team can reply without logging into the app.

Before you start

You'll need an Instagram professional or business account (not a personal one). If your account is still personal, switch it in the Instagram app under Settings → Account type and tools.

• Make sure you can log in to the account you want to connect.
• Messaging access must be enabled in your Instagram privacy settings so Messello can receive DMs.

Connect your Instagram account

1. Go to Settings → Inboxes → Add inbox.
2. Choose Instagram as the channel.
3. Sign in and authorize Messello to access your Instagram professional or business account.
4. Select the account you want to connect.
5. Name the inbox, assign the agents or teams who should handle DMs, and finish setup.

Test it

1. From another account, send a DM to your Instagram profile.
2. Confirm the message appears in your Messello inbox.
3. Reply from Messello and check the response arrives in Instagram.

New DMs from people who haven't messaged you before land in the same inbox, so nothing gets lost between story replies and comments.
