Connect SMS to Messello for two-way texting

When you connect SMS to Messello, text messages become conversations in your shared inbox, giving your team two-way texting from one place.

Before you start

You'll need an SMS-enabled phone number from a supported SMS provider. Have your provider account and its API credentials ready before you begin.

Connect your SMS number

1. Go to Settings → Inboxes → Add inbox.
2. Choose SMS as the channel.
3. Select your SMS provider and enter the requested credentials.
4. Add the phone number you want to send and receive texts from.
5. Name the inbox, assign the agents or teams who should reply, and finish setup.

Finish the connection

So your provider can deliver incoming texts to Messello, copy the webhook/callback URL shown during setup and paste it into your SMS provider's number settings. This links inbound texts to your new inbox.

Test it

1. Text your SMS number from a personal phone.
2. Confirm the message appears in your Messello inbox.
3. Reply from Messello and check the text arrives on your phone.

Keep replies short — many providers charge per message segment, so long texts may be split and billed as several messages.
